Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of The ThinkSpace Education Virtual Learning Environment , there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for The ThinkSpace Education Virtual Learning Environment:

  1. Course materials: videos: No closed captioning/subtitles to accompany course videos. because The video platform we used initially did not support auto-generated captions, and the tens of thousands of hours of existing video material will take an unfeasible amount of time/money to caption manually.. All subsequent videos are uploaded with auto-generated captions as standard.. Before enrolment in our older courses, please assess whether or not video lectures without closed captioning will make studying difficult..
  2. Course materials: images: Alternative text not present on course images. because The course creation platform we use does not support 'alt text' on images meaning that, while images may have captions, these are not formally included in the HTML image tag.. We are developing new course creation software with image 'alt text' as standard.. Before enrolment in our older courses, please assess whether or not images without alternative text will make studying difficult..
